To celebrate her 30th birthday August 28, LeAnn Rimes and her husband, Eddie Cibrian, 39, decided to forgo hosting a blowout bash in favor of a cozy dinner date at Nobu in Malibu. I've never had anyone capture the true essence of who I am for my album artwork. Sara has a beautiful way of capturing the soul or her subject. She captured every emotion, every feeling, ever little detail in such a simple yet powerful way. I've never had photos that truly reflect and say exactly what the music says. Not much was ever posed or shots set up with huge lighting. It was so organic. She just followed me around the Rosevelt Hotel penthouse and let me just feel. She even trusted me enough on 6 inch heels to jump on the Rosevelt Hotel sign and scream my head off!! She has a fearlessness that you don't find very often anymore. She captures the true beauty in the imperfections. I adore her and her work. She's become a great friend. She even shot the black and white photos for my 30th birthday. 30….it feels so different yet no different at all. I had a wonderful day full of peace with my friend's and family. I'm so happy to have arrived here. It's a true time of reflection and healing, exactly what I'm going to do. Eddie made my day so special, but he makes every day special. We went to Nobu for dinner, sat by the water, shared sake, sushi, cake and several happy tears. OH, and on top of my already beautiful birthday gift he gave me the greatest new camera to capture the next decade of memories with. I'm blessed, I know it and this decade is all about enjoying every beautiful person and experience that's gifted to me from above.
Since today is such a special day for me, I thought I'd share some special news. There has been much speculation as to what the first single off my new album "Spitfire" will be. Well, here you go..... "What Have I Done" will be released to radio and on iTunes Dec. 10th. I'm so thrilled to share the new single and new album with you all. "Spitfire" is a special record to me and I feel like with each single we'll be rolling out a story, not just singles. I hope we created and wrote a story of your life, something to hold dear to your heart. I hold each and every song deep in my soul.

When I talked to LeAnn Rimes about her upcoming music last week, I also asked about her Twitter bio. It's the place where celebs usually describe themselves as a singer, dog lover, beach walker, wine drinker, etc. But Rimes' simply says, "Human." She told me she wrote that because at the end of the day, no matter what we all do for a living, that's all we are. "We make mistakes, we have vulnerabilities, and we have wonderful triumphs. Thursday (Aug. 23) is a big day for LeAnn Rimes, and for her fans. At noon CT, her official website will go into Spitfire mode. Named for her upcoming album, the new site will open up Spitfire Social Club, which Rimes describes as "one very positive, solid place for my fans to go to." She said she looks forward to having more one-on-one interaction with her hardcore fans, as opposed to Twitter, where you never know who is following you and/or why. "It's a whole new chapter of my life," she told me Wednesday night. "I'm leaving a lot stuff behind and moving on. And I think I'm a little bit more open now than I was when I had a fan club in the past." There are two pervasive images of LeAnn Rimes, the country and pop singer who performs at the Salk Institute’s annual benefit on Saturday.
LeAnn Rimes has teamed up with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation. She will be the headlining performer for their Songwriters Music Series Napa presented by William Hill Estate Wines and Raymond Weil. The event will take place on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 6:30 - 10PM at the storied William Hill Estate in Napa, California and follows the April 2012 kick-off with Award-winning soul singer-songwriter Robin Thicke this past April in Chicago, IL.
