CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — By the time LeAnn Rimes won her first Grammy Award with “Blue” at age 11, she was already a veteran.
Years before, she toured the festival and fair circuit, showing off her vocal range far beyond her pre-pubescent years.
Today Rimes, who turns 33 next month, has sold 44 million albums, has two Grammy Awards, three Academy of Country Music Awards and 12 Billboard Music Awards.
Growing up under the glare of the spotlight had its downfall as tabloids have tracked her life — from suing her father, to her two marriages, to her fight with her second husband’s ex-wife, to her short-lived reality TV show. But Rimes is trying to put the focus back on her music.
