Notes from “The Gentlemen”
September 15, 2011
Here’s what a few of “The Gentlemen” have to say about the soon to be released Lady and Gentlemen record.
Enjoy!
Track 1 “Swingin’”
“I was flattered to have a song on LeAnn’s Album. Her Version of “Swingin” is incredible. After seeing and hearing her perform live, I must say that she is truly one of the greatest singers I have ever heard.” - John Anderson
Track 4 “I Can’t Be Myself” and Track 12 “The Bottle Let Me Down”
“After hearing LeAnn Rimes singing “I Can’t Be Myself” and “The Bottle Let Me Down” It just knocked me down - She sung the heck out of them. The thought and creativity put into the arrangements just blew me away” - Merle Haggard
Track 5 “16 Tons”
"Seriously -- I (read 'we') have never thought any arrangement for this song could ever come close to even approaching Jack Fascinato's jazz groove he built around Merle Travis' original country-blues the song was written in. Wedded to Ernie Ford's pipes, it literally defined a new sound. From the opening bass lines on LeAnn's take, however, I was in the boat. The track absolutely rocks the signal off the radar! Congratulations. - Tennessee Ernie Ford’s son Buck Ford
Track 6 “Help Me Make It Through The Night”
“I’ve always loved the way LeAnn sings and she beautifully makes “Help Me Make It Through The Night” her own.” - Kris Kristofferson
Track 7 “Rose Colored Glasses“
“LeAnn dresses up Rose Colored Glasses in a completely new outfit with a different time signature and surprise ending... and I love it!! Thanks, LeAnn, and i hope it becomes as much a blessing for you as it continues to be for me” - John Conlee
Track 10 “He Stopped Loving Her Today”
“When I heard LeAnn Rimes version of "He Stopped Loving Her Today", the first thing out of my mouth was, "Damn that girl can sing"! I have always loved LeAnn's voice but she really nailed it, along with all the other songs she has recorded for this album. When I am asked what young artists I love to listen to, LeAnn is always included in that list. She’s keeping it country, which is what I love” - George Jones
