If you should notice LeAnn Rimes staring down at the stage in a brooding and almost introspective fashion while she’s singing, she may seem lost in the moment and living the lyric.
But in all likelihood, she isn’t living the lyrics at all; she’s learning them from cards she’s strategically placed on stage.
One of the advantages to having the same core band members she’s been touring with for years is their ability to learn a song on the fly. Rimes, the country-pop performer who became a music sensation when she was barely a teenager, has been working with the same musicians for so long that they can literally learn a song as they’re walking towards the stage.
