"Give." I think when we hear that word we automatically think we need to reach into our pockets. It's something we think we can't do unless we have extra money. In these current economic times and all of the tragedy around us even in our own country, I think people almost turn the other way sometimes because they think they just don't have the money to give.
But there are so many other ways to give. You can do it right now by giving self-acceptance and self- love. We can give with a simple smile, an hour of your time, food, clothes from your closet that are just sitting there needing to be worn by homeless families, and so many other things to give than just money. One of the biggest and most valuable things we can give to one another in these trying times is pure love, while never expecting anything back in return. Sometimes all someone needs is a hug or an "I understand" and "What can I do to help?" We need to turn towards one another, not turn our backs, even to strangers. God is in all of us, even those that aren't as beautiful as we "think" we're all "supposed" to be, or as "rich" as we're supposed to be. He's in the poor, the homeless, and the heartbroken. God is in us, so let's use our light to "Give" all that we can back in this lifetime.
